Liz Lange I am all about Michelle Obama lady-like elegance. I love the idea of pairing this coral color top with the periwinkle blue pencil skirt we posted yesterday. Then to top it off I may look to another well-dressed first lady and add some Jackie O pearls. Nude or metallic shoe and I am ready for my day!
Jane Wagman I saw Jessica Alba wear a periwinkle pencil skirt with a pink sweater on top and I have been kind of obsessed with it ever since (where do you think Liz got the idea?). It was bold and elegant at the same time. Don't be afraid to play with unexpected color combos. This is just one color combo we love but the options are ENDLESS so have some fun this spring.

Liz Lange I'm not going to pretend to be a sports fan but being a native New Yorker it was was hard not to get caught up in all the Giants mania. And usually, I must confess, I only watch the Superbowl for the commercials, but last night's game, plus Madonna at half time in Givenchy (!!!) and the excitement until the last second, it really took my breath away. Well, today, I am still seeing blue! I am also living in pencil skirts right now and I am loving that they are available in so many amazing and unexpected bright colors. This skirt in periwinkle is so fresh precisely because it is NOT navy (though navy is one of the chicest colors EVER.)
Jane Wagman I couldn't agree more. In fact this morning when I went into the kitchen my 11 year old daughter was already dressed for school in a Giants outfit. I got inspired. Add a little blue to your outfit today. I am loving these '80s inspired bright shades of blue (cobalt, periwinkle, etc). And tomorrow we'll show you some pink tops to pair your periwinkle pencil skirts with inspired by Jessica Alba so stay tuned....

Liz Lange: We've been telling you forever that white is not just for summer and if you didn't believe us before, I think Sunday night's SAG awards' red carpet proved it. It was a sea of white dresses from wedding inspired, to simple columns, grecian numbers and even a 70s style jump suit - anything goes! I love white as an alternative to black. It is just as neutral but unlike black it is completely illuminating - it lights up your face! And it is the perfect blank canvas for accessories. Have fun with your jewelry (costume is fine - that's what we wear.)
Jane Wagman: We always say that when it comes to fashion there are no rules but I am going to break my own rule and give you one. Do not wear a white wedding inspired gown (such as some of the ones seen at the SAG awards) to anyone's wedding but your own. That is a major faux pas. However, feel free to look as bride-like as you wish when going to any other type of event. White is a great day option too. For now, take a simple white sheath and throw on a black cardigan and black boots. In the spring/summer swap that out for a metallic shoe and bright colored cardigan.
