Rachel Rachel Roy Dress, Extended Shoulder Printed with Belt , $99
macys.com
Liz: We know we have been posting a lot of dresses but we really can't have enough of them! They are the perfect way to transition between seasons and truthfully if I never put on another pair of pants again I would be a happy girl! I like the draped, effortless look of this dress and that it is sexy without being obviously so. Throw a cardigan or boys blazer over this for cool days/nights. And somehow it feels slightly retro 80s to me as well.
Jane: I love that instead of a self belt in the same fabric as the dress, this dress comes with a brown sporty looking "leather" belt. The hard/soft mix is very chic and it looks as if you have created your own look, but they are doing the work for you. The wide neckline means this dress would probably not be as flattering on someone with very narrow shoulders. Pair with flats, heels of any height, or even to-the-knee boots.

Kara Ross: "I’m an avid collector of vintage clothing, Halston in particular, so I was excited to hear about the Halston Heritage collection. Even though I live in New York, I’ve never been afraid of wearing color so this jewel-toned satin jersey gown is right up my alley."
Liz and Jane: The color of this dress is so romantic and sophisticated. We love the simple yet sexy (check out the slit) silhouette. Kind of want this!

Liz: Oh Em Gee...hello Chanel, hello ladies who lunch. Jane and I each bought the summer version of this jacket in butter yellow. We couldn't find it online but are so happy to share it with you now as you will have all fall/winter/spring to wear this over absolutely every item of clothing in your wardrobe. It's an amazing way to dress up a pair of jeans and a tee. It makes any outfit insta-glam. We love the white but Navy and Trophy (Mustard) are also great. We are not huge fans of the Green.
Jane: Throw this on over a skinny pencil skirt for a 1950s style suiting look or use it to top of long black trousers. Tip: don't get upset if your sweater or shirt is longer then the jacket. That is part of the look (and a way to hide your hips and buttocks)! Part of what we love about Talbots (other then that they are GAME ON right now) is their sizing. They recognize literally every single body type in their sizing: zero petite - "woman" petite - size 24

Liz: It's not that this dress is life-changing but I have to say, I purchased it recently and I've kind of been living in it. It's easy (like a T-shirt) but the details are cuter. Tab button sleeves and the 3 button closure is sexy when left undone. I love the rope belt but I also mix it with my own belts (wide brown, black or natural belts.). It seems to work as well every day with flip flops as it does at night with wedge espadrilles or nicer sandals.
Jane: The ink drop color is very chic and flattering. It's a blue/grey that feels as flattering and neutral as black without actually being black. A nice transitional dress, as it would be cute with a jean jacket or cardigan thrown over it and a pair of cowboy-inspired boots.

Liz: I love a dress that looks as if it's a skirt and top but is so much easier. This dress incorporates both the safari and the military trends without looking trendy! It's perfect to wear right now while it's still warm out, but with a cardigan of any color it will take you into Fall and beyond. The sash belt feature allows you to really cinch in your waist which is always super slimming and thus super flattering.
Jane: For what's left of the Summer (my husband insists Summer is over but I refuse to accept that) I will pair this with my high wedge espadrilles. Mine are gold but any color would be fabu. This Fall/Winter wear this with a classic pump or maybe a flat pair of to-the-knee boots. I love the self-sash belt but have fun and mix it up by replacing with your own belt.

Liz: First of all I love the price of these cargos! So many of them cost a fortune. I also love the long straight leg. They have a 14" leg opening which makes them NOT "leggings". I don't know about you, but I am a bit over the painted on pants/jeggings trend. This straighter version feels fresh, modern and sexy for Fall.
Jane: The fit on these is amazing. They would look fabu with today's chunky heels in any of the colors but equally great with flats, a kitten heel and even stilettos. In fact, pair these with any fun color shoe in your wardrobe. Me, I'm going to wear them with my bubblegum pink patent Louboutin's but that's just me.

TORY BURCH: "A chic printed dress is a wardrobe essential. I love our Harriet dress – you can wear it to the office or dress it up with a bold piece of jewelry for an evening out."
Liz & Jane: We love this dress as is or cinched at the waist with a big belt. The turquoise and black tribal pattern is graphic and modern. Somehow this dress manages to be conservative and sexy at the same time which is always a bonus!
email a friendDKNY Off the Shoulder Dress , $171.50 (30% off)
shopbop.com
Liz: We love a wear now/wear later-sale dress. I would add a wide belt to make it even more flattering and waist cinching. Try white, black, navy any metallic. Wear with any type of heels from classic pumps to stilettos to strappy sandals. Or dress it down with flats.
Jane: J'adore that this looks like a sexy top with a denim pencil skirt but it is really a dress. J'adore also the idea of throwing a cardigan over it in white, navy, black, red, charcoal, yellow or camel for fall. Or maybe a slouchy menswear inspired blazer with rolled up sleeves. And of course pull this dress out next July 4th (yes it's a while off, but time flies....)
email a friendAsos Hooded Military Cape, $117.95
asos.com
Liz: TIP: British sizes are a size bigger than American. So a British size 2 would be a U.S size 0. We are feeling for capes in a big way. This one has all the expensive looking details: shoulder epaulets, hood, over sized buttons, half belt in the back. It is a fantastic and chic coat to wear all Fall. We selected the khaki as we are both feeling for military green but the black would be just as good.
Jane: We love it over a pencil skirt or over skinny jeans/pants. It would be insanely chic with today's Fendi purse held in the crook of your elbow. It's retro and modern all at the same time. It almost makes me want to purchase a pair of buttery chocolate leather gloves to go with it.

Liz: This silk blouse feels so sexy and lady-like and perfect for fall. Wear it under a jacket or cardigan with a pencil skirt and pearls with a low heeled pump for this Fall's must have mad men/1950s look. Tip: if it feels too low cut for daytime have your dry cleaner/tailor add a hook and eye.
Jane: This would be amazing at night with fluid black silk pants or a pair of dark jeans and heels. And as much as we love the summer sales, it is time to start investing in your fall wardrobe (as crazy as that seems.). This is a perfect transition item: wear now/wear this fall.
