There are so many beautiful and wearable trends out there right now that you almost can’t go wrong. Just pick what you love and go for it! We are highlighting some here but please fashion is for fun – there are no rules!
The ’50s:
Think January Jones/Mad Men. Full circle skirts and dresses or slim to the knee sheaths.
The ’60s:
mod shorter, swingy dresses, bright colors (think Courreges, Cardin, Quant). Mini skirts or cropped trousers in pop colors with little blouses on top (Mary Tyler Moore as Laura Petrie in The Dick Van Dyke Show.)
The Glamorous ’70s:
long belled out jean trousers, silky blouses in saturated colors. Shimmery dresses, high waisted trousers, sleeve details (like belled out) on blouses or bows/ties at the neckline. (Think Bianca Jagger at studio 54.)
The bohemian ’70s:
crochet, macrame, browns and beiges. Maxi dresses, sheerness, lace and platfrom/wedge chunky wooden/cork heeled shoes/espadrilles.
Stripes:
bold stripes in saturated colors or preppy american/french nautical red white and blue stripes.
Citrus colors:
vibrant yellows, oranges, greens even citrus prints are everywhere.
White:
done sheer, done as lace, white on white. White blazers, white shorts, white blouses…
